What happens during a power flush
Getting a power flush means that your radiators can go through a cleansing process, where all the dirt in your boiler is removed. This dirt is made up of rust, sludge, debris that has all accumulated over time. These are able to cause blockages in your system, which eventually reduces the efficiency of your boiler and may lead to a full breakdown.
Heating Systems should be totally drained down every 5 years after installation.
During a power flush, a chemical is pumped through the radiators by a specialised machine. The machine we used the Kamco (as seen in the image). This chemical then flushes out the inhibiting debris which then allows for the water to flow through the system with no resistance or blockage.

What we use during a power flush:
We use Adey MC1 Central Heating System Protector. 500ml does 10 Radiators. Â
It performs effectively for all types of water: hard, soft and demineralised.Â
Using this prevents corrosion and scale formation. We love it because its suitable for all central heating systems and all water types. Doing a power flush with Adey MCI protectory ensures optimum boiler efficiency. It is also compatible with all metals including aluminium.
